Meet Casey

Casey graduated from Pima Medical Institute in 2012 and has been working in the massage field ever since. What lead her to become a massage therapist was constant headaches. For six months straight day after day she had a headache. She saw different doctors, nutritionist and even had a brain scan to see what was causing the headaches. After switching chiropractors to one that had massage things changed. After her first appointment her headaches were gone! Not forever, but it was a start, a light at the end of the tunnel. She finally found out what was causing all the headaches it was just muscle tension. Because of this Casey’s goal for every massage session is to find the root cause of the pain so you’re able to function better and live life as pain free as possible.

Meet Dulce

Dulce graduated from Arizona School of Integrated Studies in 2024 and is loving her new career in the massage field. What lead her to become a massage therapist was her grandmother. When Dulce was younger she would work on her grandma to help relieve her pain and from there her desire to help people emerged. Dulce approach to massage is that through relaxing techniques you can calm the body’s nervous system in order to aid in relaxation and recovery.

  • Every body is unique, which is why we always begin with a short consultation. This allows us to understand your goals and set the right starting point for your session. Here’s what you can expect from our two most popular massage types:

    Swedish Massage: For Deep Relaxation

Think of this as your pathway to profound calm. The goal of a Swedish massage is to help your mind and body fully relax. By using light to medium pressure on the more superficial layers of muscle, we're not just easing tension—we're encouraging your body to switch into its "rest and digest" mode. This activates your parasympathetic nervous system, allowing you to de-stress and find a deep sense of peace. You should never feel any discomfort during a Swedish massage.

Deep Tissue Massage (Therapeutic Massage): For Targeted Relief

While it can also be incredibly relaxing, a Deep Tissue massage is designed to address more specific areas of chronic tension. We use firmer pressure to work on the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. During this process, we may encounter tight areas or "trigger points" that can feel uncomfortable. This is a sign that we're addressing the root of the issue. Communication is key! If you ever need your therapist to adjust the pressure, please let them know so we can ensure you get the best possible results.

    The Common Ground

No matter which massage you choose, both Swedish and Deep Tissue are designed to be beneficial for your body. They are both excellent for increasing circulation, promoting deep relaxation, and activating your body's parasympathetic nervous system. The right choice simply depends on your personal goals for the session.

  • The lymphatic system is like your body's personal clean-up crew and security team. While your heart pumps blood throughout your body, the lymphatic system has no pump of its own. It relies on your movement and muscle contractions to do its important work.

Think of it this way: as your blood circulates, a clear fluid called lymph leaks out into your tissues to deliver nutrients. But it doesn't just sit there. The lymphatic system acts as a sophisticated drainage network, collecting this fluid, along with any cellular waste, bacteria, viruses, parasites and fungi it picks up along the way. It then routes this fluid through tiny vessels to filtration stations called lymph nodes (the small, often swollen, lumps you might feel in your neck or armpits when you're sick).

At these nodes, your immune cells are waiting to inspect the fluid and destroy any harmful invaders. Once the fluid is cleaned, it's returned to your bloodstream. This entire process is essential for keeping swelling down and supporting your immune system.

Since the lymphatic system needs movement to flow properly, lymphatic drainage can be extremely helpful. The rhythmic strokes and gentle pressure can encourage the natural circulation of lymph fluid, aiding your body's own ability to clear out waste and support your overall health. It's a key reason why a great lymphatic massage can leave you feeling not just relaxed, but lighter and more energized.

    • Reduces Swelling: It's great for getting rid of extra lymph fluid that is stagnant, whether it's from surgery, an injury, or a long-term condition like lymphedema.

    • Boosts Your Immune System: Lymphatic Drainage helps your body flush out metabolic waste. This makes your immune system stronger and better prepared to fight off sickness and aid in post-op recovery.

    • Speeds Up Healing: By reducing swelling and inflammation after surgery, it helps your body recover faster.

    • Calms Your Body and Mind: The light, rhythmic movements are very relaxing and can help calm the mind.

  • Individuals with Lymphedema: This is the most common and well-documented use of Lymphatic Drainage. Lymphedema is a chronic condition that causes swelling, usually in the arms or legs, often due to cancer treatment (like the removal of lymph nodes) or other health issues. MLD is the primary way to manage this condition.

Post-Surgery Patients: MLD is widely recommended by surgeons, especially after cosmetic procedures like liposuction, and tummy tucks. The MLD helps to reduce swelling, bruising, and discomfort, and can prevent fibrosis that can occur after surgery. It's also used for orthopedic and other non-cosmetic surgeries to speed up recovery.

Individuals with General Swelling (Edema): MLD can be beneficial for reducing swelling from injuries, chronic venous insufficiency (problems with veins in the legs), and even fluid retention from pregnancy.

It is important to note that MLD is not for everyone. You should always consult with your doctor before starting MLD, especially if you have a medical condition. Certain conditions are a contraindication for MLD, including active infections, blood clots, congestive heart failure, and active cancer.

  • Deep Breath: Peppermint Eucalyptus blend; it helps with any congestion you may have and headaches.

Citrus Cream: Orange Grapefruit Blend; it is uplifting and energizing.

    Relaxation: Lavender; it promotes relaxation.

  • It is possible to be sore after a massage, depending on what was worked on and how much pressure was applied. It is more common to feel sore after a deep tissue or therapeutic massage. Think of it like a gentle workout for your muscles; when a therapist works the deeper levels of muscle tissue, your muscles can respond with a temporary ache. This is a normal, healthy reaction and usually feels like the soreness you get after working out. This feeling typically lasts for a day or two. To help, be sure to drink plenty of water, take an Epsom salt bath, and rest.

    • Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate: This is the most crucial step. Massage helps flush out metabolic waste products from your muscles. Drinking plenty of water (not sugary drinks, coffee, or alcohol) helps your body get rid of them and prevents next-day soreness.

    • Rest and Take it Easy: Your body just went through a significant amount of work, even if it was a relaxing massage. Avoid strenuous activities like a heavy workout or lifting for at least 24 hours. Instead, listen to your body and give yourself time to rest and recover.

    • Take a Warm Bath or Shower: Heat helps soothe muscles and continues the relaxation process. Adding Epsom salts to a warm bath can further help release tension and reduce any soreness.

    • Move Gently: While you should avoid strenuous activity, don't just sit still. Gentle movements like a leisurely walk or light stretching will help maintain the flexibility and improved range of motion you gained. It keeps the muscles from getting tightening again.

    • Pay Attention to Your Posture: After a massage, your body is more aligned and your muscles are relaxed. Be mindful of your posture while sitting, standing, and working to avoid reintroducing the old habits that caused your tension in the first place.

    • Schedule your next appointment: We will always make recommendations for when you should come back in for your next session but in general a massage once a month helps you to stay on top of your pain before it becomes a bigger issue.
